Delta Administrative Services (DAS), headquartered in New Orleans, is a Human Resource Outsourcing Company that specializes in building Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) for clients across multiple industries. DAS supports healthcare, hospitality, construction, non-profit organizations, professional services, finance and insurance, transportation/warehouse, and other service-based businesses.
Role Description- The Payroll Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Metairie, LA, responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services to DAS clients.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include processing payroll cycles, calculating wages and overtime, administering garnishments, and ensuring proper withholding and payment of payroll taxes.
- The role involves maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and responding to client and employee payroll inquiries in a professional and service-oriented manner.
- The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with HR, benefits, and accounting teams to support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and assist in audits and reporting.
- This position requires strong attention to detail, discretion when handling confidential information, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.
- Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing, with experience managing regular and off-cycle payrolls for multiple clients or business units.
- Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Taxes and Payroll Services, including tax withholding, reporting, and remittance in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Candidates should possess skills in handling Garnishments, including court-ordered deductions and other wage attachments, while maintaining accurate documentation and adherence to legal requirements.
- Knowledge of payroll software systems, HRIS platforms, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
- Strong numerical aptitude, analytical skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach and ability to explain payroll matters clearly.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred qualifications include prior experience in a PEO or HR outsourcing environment and a relevant certification (e.g., Fundamental Payroll Certification or similar).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; associates degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience running payroll for more than 50 employees
- Medical (2 plans; company pays 50% employee only premium of base plan)

- Paid Vacation, Sick, and 9 holidays
- Non-exempt hourly - $ 26.50 - $28.85 depending on experience
