Precision Ag Internship

AgState is currently seeking a Precision Ag Intern! Do you have a desire to learn about precision agronomy practices, interact with customers, and learn the science behind producing a great crop? Do you display a strong desire to have exposure to customers and technology?

We will offer a 12-week paid internship to a qualified and motivated individual who will be responsible for learning our agronomy business and understanding management and operations viewpoints while working on special projects. As an intern, you will be responsible for entering customer data into our Precision Ag systems, generating reports, and presenting data to the Precision Ag team and customers!

You will find a team atmosphere committed to safety and excellent customer service with the opportunity to develop even more soft skills that will be beneficial in school and beyond!

  • Learn and research areas of precision agronomy business by:
  • Shadowing Precision Ag Technicians and learning about prescription maps, yield maps, and reports.
  • Learning the fundamentals of sales and customer relations of our retail Precision Ag products
  • Assisting the Seed Product Manager and Precision Ag Manager on special projects
  • Utilize map information, Soil Map, SMS Advanced, and SMS mobile.
  • Learning agronomy business, management viewpoints, agronomy operations, and attend regular grower and team meetings.
  • Conduct special projects for Agronomy Team
    • Develop and coordinate agronomy business solutions.
    • Responsible for an overall assigned sales/research project in conjunction with all corporate research initiatives including but not limited to taking pictures, sampling, and gathering data.
    • Present findings to sales group at completion of project
  • Interact with growers.
    • Work with growers to manage risk and present data to help make marketing decisions.
  • Work in a safe & efficient manner according to our safety policies
  • Assist other locations, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Passion for Agriculture!

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursing an associate or bachelor’s degree in an Ag related field
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
