Job SummaryThe Estimator prepares accurate and competitive bids primarily within CSI Division 10, along with Divisions 6, 8, and 12. This role manages projects from initial document review through proposal completion while coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and the internal project team.
This position is ideal for someone who understands the estimating process, can work independently on standard projects, and continues developing toward a senior estimating role.
ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Some travel may be required
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare complete bid proposals and scope clarifications
- Identify scope gaps and request RFIs as needed
- Coordinate with project managers during turnover of awarded projects
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as required
- Maintain organized estimating files and documentation
- Meet bid deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Assist senior estimators with complex projects when needed
- Proficient blueprint reading skills (architectural/interior emphasis preferred)
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating/take-off software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Construction Management or related education preferred
- 2–5 years of construction estimating or related experience preferred
