Summary:
Outage in Baytown Texas
The Field Safety Supervisor will be responsible for enforcing safety policies, conducting field inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable regulations. This role requires hands‑on leadership in high‑risk environments, including heavy lifting operations, rigging, and construction site management.
Responsibilities:- Conduct safety inspections and audits on sites involving construction, turnarounds and Crane & Rigging operations.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NCCCO, and other industry standards.
- Develop and implement job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safety plans.
- Train employees on proper safety procedures, equipment operation, and emergency response.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, provide reports, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor crane and rigging operations to ensure safe lift plans are followed.
- Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and crews to foster a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all safety documentation is maintained, including permits, JSAs, inspections, and certifications.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency drills.
- Assist in pre-job planning, including lift planning and risk assessments.
- Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of field safety experience in construction and crane & rigging environments. - Knowledge:
Strong understanding of OSHA 1926, ANSI B30, ASME, and industry-specific safety guidelines. - Physical:
Ability to work in various outdoor conditions, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods. Carry up to 50 lbs. - Skills:
Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities. - Travel: ~75% Travel (~50% In-state, ~25% Out of State)
- Experience:
Experience with new construction, heavy lift operations, load charts, and crane safety. - Certifications:
OSHA 30/OSHA 500, NCCCO (Crane Signal Person/Rigger), First Aid/CPR, CSP, CHST.
