Key Responsibilities- Assist the Project Superintendent with day-to-day field supervision, administrative tasks, and coordination of work activities.
- Supervise, direct, and manage craft labor and subcontractors, including work assignments, productivity, and personnel oversight.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned work areas to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and take corrective action.
- Enforce all LEMOINE safety policies, project-specific safety plans, and OSHA requirements.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and blueprints, identify conflicts, and assist in resolving field issues.
- Plan, organize, and lead short- and long-term work activities to meet schedule and production goals.
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Field Engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and proper sequencing.
- Assist with quality control to ensure work meets project specifications and standards.
- Operate or oversee the operation of tools, equipment, and machinery as required.
- Support training and development of crew members through leadership and cross-training opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Field Engineer.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant construction experience may substitute for formal education.
- Several years of experience in construction, preferably within municipal, civil, or utility projects.
- Strong working knowledge of construction methods, means, and procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions, adhere to established guidelines, and exercise sound judgment in the field.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage crews effectively.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate vehicles and equipment as required.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands, arms, and legs; repetitive motions required.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and work at heights or on uneven terrain.
- May operate hand and power tools of various types.
- Ability to hear, understand, and communicate verbal instructions related to work and safety.
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and physical labor demands typical of construction sites.
- Position may require prolonged standing, walking, or occasional sitting.
- May assist other craft workers as needed.
