Civil/Industrial Project Manager / Estimator

Position Summary

Civil Construction Contractors, LLC, an industrial civil contractor specializing in heavy civil and industrial construction, is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to support estimating, project planning, and execution of prospective and awarded work. This position may be based in our Hahnville office and/or field office locations depending on project needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in civil and industrial construction estimating and project management, with the ability to manage multiple bids and active projects while maintaining strong communication with clients, subcontractors, field leadership, and internal teams.
Experience with HCSS estimating and project management software is highly preferred.

Civil/Industrial Project Manager / Estimator Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Estimating & Preconstruction
  • Review bid invitations, plans, specifications, and requests for estimates
  • Prepare cost estimates for civil/sitework, concrete construction, industrial facility maintenance/improvements, and underground utilities; structural steel & interior remodeling (preferred)
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using plans, specs, and field information
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks
  • Identify project risks, constructability concerns, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
  • Develop scopes of work and estimate clarifications
  • Maintain estimate files and bid documentation
  • Coordinate bid submissions and meet deadlines
Project Management
  • Manage projects from award through closeout
  • Review contracts, subcontracts, and project requirements
  • Develop budgets and cost codes
  • Conduct pre-job and progress meetings with supervisors and customers
  • Monitor labor, equipment, material, and subcontract costs
  • Forecast costs, profitability, and cash flow
  • Manage schedules and coordinate with field supervision
  • Process change orders, RFIs, and contract modifications
  • Support procurement and long-lead material planning
  • Perform periodic site visits to review progress, safety, quality, and schedule
  • Maintain project documentation and assist with closeout and final billing
Client & Team Coordination
  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Support business development through responsiveness and client service
  • Collaborate with operations, accounting/payroll, safety, and field leadership
  • Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Support internal process improvements

Civil/Industrial Project Manager / Estimator

Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Walk active jobsites over uneven terrain; climb ladders, stairs, and structures
  • Work above and below grade
  • Ability to work in office and field environments (exposure to outdoor weather conditions)
  • Frequent computer and screen use
Civil/Industrial Project Manager / Estimator Other Requirements
  • Adhere to and enforce all company safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Valid TWIC card
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DISA drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Ability to complete plant orientations and client-specific training
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and out-of-town travel as required
Civil/Industrial Project Manager / Estimator Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of civil and/or industrial construction experience
  • Experience managing project billings and owner pay applications
  • Proven track record of bid accuracy and project profitability
  • Experience with refinery/chemical plant procedures
  • Experience estimating and managing industrial civil projects
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Knowledge of OSHA and industrial plant safety requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (preferred, but not required)
Software / Technical Experience (Preferred)

Experience with one or more of the following:
HCSS Heavy Bid / Heavy Job (strongly preferred), Bluebeam or similar digital takeoff software, Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software, Microsoft Office Suite, Construction document management systems
