Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Railroad Laborer role based in Prairieville, LA. Railroad Laborers support the construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad tracks and related infrastructure, including installing and replacing ties, rails, and ballast. Daily tasks may include operating hand and power tools, assisting with track work and alignment, cleaning work areas, and following all safety protocols on active rail sites.

Team members work outdoors in varying weather conditions, collaborate closely with the rail crew and supervisors, and may be required to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project schedules. The role requires consistent adherence to company safety standards and contributing to a positive, team-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy materials, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and power tools commonly used in construction or rail maintenance.
• Strong commitment to safety, including willingness to follow safety procedures, use personal protective equipment, and participate in safety training.
• Reliable teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to take direction from supervisors and collaborate effectively with crew members.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime, as required by project needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in railroad, construction, or industrial labor is a plus.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed and maintain reliable transportation to the Prairieville, LA work location.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to pass any required background checks or pre-employment screenings.
• Eligibility to pass a drug screen.
• Having possession of a TWIC Card and OSHA is preferred.
