The Field Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater New Orleans Region, responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects. This role coordinates and supervises subcontractors, trades, and site staff to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to plans and specifications. The Field Superintendent conducts daily site walks, monitors quality and progress, manages materials and equipment deliveries, and resolves field issues in collaboration with project managers.
The role also includes maintaining site documentation, enforcing safety protocols, participating in progress meetings, and communicating project status to internal stakeholders and clients. The Field Superintendent plays a key role in maintaining jobsite cleanliness, minimizing disruptions, and upholding Martin Building Group’s standards for luxury and specialty projects.
- Experience in field supervision or construction management for residential, religious, or commercial projects, preferably including luxury or specialty builds.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and project sequencing, with the ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and tracking progress to meet milestones and deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety, including applying OSHA standards and enforcing company safety policies.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to guide field teams, work collaboratively with project managers, and interact professionally with clients.
- Basic proficiency with construction management or scheduling software, digital documentation tools, and email/office applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot on-site issues, make practical decisions, and maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, trade certification, or a degree in construction-related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater New Orleans Region, with reliable transportation and flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
