Estimating Intern

Location: Prairieville

* Assist estimators with reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
* Perform quantity takeoffs for doors, frames, and hardware under supervision.
* Enter project information into estimating software and company databases.
* Organize project documents, plans, specifications, and addenda.
* Request and track vendor pricing and product information.
* Assist with bid preparation and proposal assembly.
* Support the estimating team with project research and documentation.
* Attend department meetings and training sessions.
* Learn industry terminology, products, and construction processes.
* Maintain accurate project records and electronic files.
* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
* High school diploma or currently pursuing a high school diploma.
* Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong math and analytical abilities.
* Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions.
* Interest in construction, estimating, project management, or architecture.
* Exposure to construction drawings, blueprints, or specifications.
* Experience using Excel or data management software.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality with project and company information.
* Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
* Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
* Ability to review detailed plans, specifications, and construction documents.
