Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Video Director – Folklore Storytelling, New Orleans
Location: New Orleans

This role is for a director with a passion for cinematic storytelling to helm a music video inspired by New Orleans folklore. The project centers on the song “Marie Laveau” and seeks to create a visually rich, narrative-driven short film rather than a standard performance video. The ideal candidate will bring a haunting, mysterious atmosphere to life, blending elegance with supernatural elements and a storybook or narrator-driven approach.

The director should be based in the New Orleans area and have a keen eye for mood, narrative clarity, and strong visual composition.

Deliverables
  • Develop a creative treatment and visual concept that aligns with the song’s folklore inspiration and haunting tone
  • Direct all aspects of the music video production, including casting, location scouting, and shot planning
  • Collaborate closely with the artist to ensure the narrative and visual style reflect the intended storybook and supernatural themes
  • Oversee the shoot on location in New Orleans, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to the project’s vision
  • Guide post-production, including editing and color grading, to achieve a polished, cinematic final product
Requirements
  • Proven experience directing cinematic music videos or short films with a strong narrative focus
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, mood creation, and folklore-inspired themes
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into compelling visual narratives
  • Experience working with small to mid-sized budgets and managing productions efficiently
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with artists and crew
  • Based in or able to work on location in New Orleans
  • Availability for pre-production, shooting, and post-production phases within the project timeline
