Administrative Support for the Facility’s Medical Department.

Coordinates with Administrative Coordinator 4 on the daily medical call outs with the Director of Nursing to include x-ray, laboratory, dental, physician, optometrist, nurses, and Telemed.

Qualifications

Two years of experience in administrative services.

Experience Substitution: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.

Responsibilities
  • Makes offender medical records accessible to nurses for court orders, off‑site specialty clinics, and weekly transferring offenders.
  • Sorts filing material numerically and files in medical records.
  • Coordinates with the Warden’s Office regarding all legal matters concerning offender medical records and information pertaining to the Medical Department requested by attorneys. Assures timely copying, certification and submission of requested documentation to the attorneys.
  • Someone with a positive personality would be a great candidate for this position.
  • This position will work directly with staff from every department.
Position‑Specific Details

Appointment Type: JOB APPOINTMENT – A temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non‑temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process. If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment.
