Location: New Orleans
Role Overview
Intermediate level customer service work in a high-volume call center at the Sewerage & Water Board. Handle service requests and informational inquiries received via telephone, in‑person, fax, e‑mail, and other electronic media. Does not handle police, fire or EMS related public safety calls.
Responsibilities- Receive, process, and respond to service requests and informational inquiries from the public.
- Handle inquiries received via telephone, in‑person, fax, email, and other electronic services.
- Support call center operations as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Permanent status with the City of New Orleans or at least one year of customer service experience in a high-volume call center environment.
- Successful completion of required coursework (Basic Grammar Usage and Proofreading, Basic Office Skills, Techniques of Good Customer Service, Telephone Techniques) or equivalent, as determined by the Civil Service Department.
- One-year probationary period.
Applicants must pass a written test and a computerized keyboarding test with a minimum score of 20 words per minute after deduction of errors.
