Support Our Service Members – USO Fleet Week New Orleans Volunteer Team

In May 2026, New Orleans will host over 3,000 visiting service members as part of Fleet Week New Orleans and Sail 250. The USO of Louisiana and Mississippi will welcome these Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and partner‑nation service members in a series of special events and programs. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers from across the community to support these events and to deliver what we call a “big New Orleans hug” to our nation’s heroes.

Volunteers may assist with a range of activities during the week, including:

• Greeting and welcoming visiting service members
• Assisting with event setup and coordination
• Supporting hospitality areas and refreshments
• Managing guest flow and check‑in areas
• Supporting logistics and event operations
• Assisting with event breakdown and cleanup
• Maintaining a welcoming and positive environment for our guests

Specific events such as the Fleet Week Welcome Celebration, USO Support Center, Comedy Night for the Troops, and the Fleet Week Concert Event will provide opportunities for volunteers to contribute directly to morale‑building and hospitality.

Volunteer opportunities are available during May 27 – June 1, 2026, with shifts scheduled across multiple events and activities throughout the week. Specific schedules will be coordinated with volunteers who express interest.

A positive attitude and a desire to support our military are required; prior experience is not necessary. Volunteers will be expected to follow all USO procedures and maintain a supportive, respectful environment for service members.
