LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry, Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, is seeking three motivated applicants for the position of Dental Assistant 1 or Dental Assistant 2.
No experience or training required.

Job Duties And Other InformationDuties and responsibilities included, but not limited to:
- Assist dentists and dental students with chair side treatment of patients.
- Maintain and stock cabinet
- Instruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry techniques
- Chart patients according to LSUSD systems (Axium Computer knowledge)
- Give fluoride treatments as directed by dentist or student
- Give follow-up home instructions as directed by dentist or student
- Place rubber dam and directed by dentist or student
- Remove cement supragingivally from dental restorations and fixed restorations
- Knowledgeable of computers.

Focusing on Customers: The ability to understand and meet the needs, preferences, and experiences of internal and external customers.
Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

This position is part of the career progression group may be filled as a Dental Assistant 1 or 2.
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday; 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Work Location:

There is a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of
- $15.05 per hour for Dental Assistant 2 title
- $14.06 for Dental Assistant 1 title
- $1.00 Longevity Pay for hours worked only.
- $2.25 per hour worked available for candidates that hold a current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification.
- $1.50 for EDDA certification (Expanded Dental Duty Dental Assistant).
