Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Architect / Architectural Designer (I-II)
Location: New Orleans

Trapolin-Peer Architects (TPA) is seeking an Architect I–II or Architectural Designer to join our New Orleans studio. This role is best suited for an early- to mid-career architect who is ready to take on meaningful responsibility, contribute to design thinking, and continue building experience through direct involvement in active projects.

Our projects span adaptive reuse, new construction, and institutional work across New Orleans and the Gulf South. Team members work closely with principals and senior project leaders and are encouraged to develop both design judgment and technical confidence.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with principals, project architects, and project managers across all project phases
  • Take ownership of defined portions of projects, appropriate to experience and performance
  • Develop and document design ideas through drawing, modeling, and Revit-based production with attention to design intent and constructability
  • Participate in consultant coordination and integrated design
  • Support construction administration, including document revisions and field responses
Who You Are
  • 4–8 years of professional experience in an architecture firm (approximate range; judgment and capability matter more than exact years)
  • Professional degree in Architecture (NAAB-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s); licensure preferred but not required
  • Strong design sensibility paired with a solid technical foundation
  • Proficiency in Revit and comfort working between 2D documentation and 3D design tools
  • Able to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance; thoughtful, collaborative, and communicative
Why TPA
  • A collaborative, team-based studio culture with engaged project leadership
  • Early and meaningful responsibility for designers who demonstrate judgment and follow-through
  • Direct involvement in design decision-making and seeing work carried through to construction
  • Exposure to a range of project types and scales, with support for professional growth including licensure and continuing education

TPA offers competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with experience, and a supportive studio environment rooted in New Orleans. Our Warehouse District office reflects the firm’s long-standing engagement with the city and the region.
