This is a full-time, Interior Designer role based in New Orleans, LA. The Interior Designer will collaborate with architects and project teams to develop interior concepts, plan spaces, and coordinate design solutions from schematic design through construction administration. Daily responsibilities include preparing drawings, elevations, and details; developing FF&E palettes; researching materials and finishes; and assisting with design presentations to clients and stakeholders.
The role will support the production of construction documents, coordinate with consultants and vendors, and help ensure that interior solutions align with project budgets, schedules, and sustainability goals. The Interior Designer will also participate in site visits, punch lists, and ongoing project coordination to help deliver cohesive and well‑executed spaces.
- Proficiency in Interior Design and Space Planning, with the ability to translate client needs into functional, aesthetically cohesive environments.
- Experience collaborating with Architecture teams to integrate interiors with building systems, structure, and overall design intent.
- Skill in preparing Construction Drawings, including plans, elevations, details, and schedules suitable for permitting and construction.
- Knowledge of FF&E selection, specification, and documentation, including furniture layouts, finishes, and fixtures coordination.
- Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software (e.g., Vector Works, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office).
- Understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainable design principles as they relate to interiors.
- Strong visual communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; progress toward NCIDQ or architectural licensure is a plus.
- Experience with hospitality, commercial, institutional, or mixed-use projects and an interest in historic renovation are beneficial.
