overview
beginning level work inspecting building construction and repair to secure compliance with municipal regulations, and related work as required.
qualificationsnote: if appointed, employee must be certified by the international code council (icc) as a residential building inspector during the probationary period. No probationary period may last longer than one year. If not certified during probation, employee will be terminated and must wait one year from the end of their probationary period or obtain certification to be considered for rehire.
note: applicants hired between april 1, 2025 and march 31, 2027 are exempted from the requirement to reside in orleans parish.
note: prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. Applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
