The City of Westfield is seeking applicants to fill several skilled seasonal positions for the Parks and Recreation Department’s 2026 spring and summer programs. Positions will be posted from February 9th to March 6th. Positions are subject to funding. These positions are considered seasonal employees and receive no benefits.
Positions- Field Hockey Instructor:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching and supervising children in the sport of field hockey.
Thorough knowledge of field hockey and prior field hockey instructional experience preferred.
- Pickleball Instructor:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching adults and children the sport of pickleball in an instructional setting.
Thorough knowledge of pickleball and prior pickleball instructional experience preferred.
- Pickleball Specialist:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching adults and children the sport of pickleball in an instructional setting.
Thorough knowledge of pickleball and prior pickleball instructional experience preferred. (Summer)
- Preschool Specialist:
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Paraprofessional or teacher’s certification or experience working with children 3-8 yrs old preferred.
Teaching arts and crafts, songs and nature activities in a preschool setting. (Summer)
- Soccer Specialist:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching and supervising children in the sport of soccer.
Thorough knowledge of soccer and prior soccer instructional experience preferred. Two weeks. (Summer)
- Tennis Instructor:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching children the sport of tennis.
Thorough knowledge of tennis and prior tennis instructional experience preferred. Evening hours and Saturday mornings. Spring and Summer position
- Tennis Specialist:
Applicants must 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching and supervising children the sport of tennis.
Thorough knowledge of tennis and prior tennis instructional experience preferred. Summer position
- Theater Arts Specialist:
Applicants must 21 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching and supervising children in various theater arts programs.
Knowledge of Theater Arts plays and techniques, and prior theater arts experience preferred. Four weeks. Summer position
- Volleyball Specialist:
Applicants must 20 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching and supervising children in the sport of volleyball.
Thorough knowledge of volleyball and prior instructional volleyball experience preferred. 1 week.
- Youth Sports Instructor:
Applicants must 18 years of age or older.
The Youth Sports Instructor teaches various sports programs to children ages 3-12.
Experience working with children and thorough knowledge of teaching various sports is preferred. Spring and summer
- Cross Country Instructor:
Applicants must 18 years of age or older.
Duties include teaching and supervising children in the sport of cross country.
Thorough knowledge of cross country and prior cross country instructional experience preferred.

As a condition of employment, all candidates must submit to a CORI/SORI (a criminal background check) and complete the Conflict of Interest Law form.
