EVSC Special Education Assistants work throughout the school year, beginning one day before school begins and ending on the last day of school. Enjoy your summers off! The schedule is 5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day and follows the EVSC School Board of Trustees approved school calendar. This includes 27+ paid holidays throughout the school year! Additionally, Special Ed Assistants follow a salary schedule that provides an annual increase every year!

This position is a ED/Multicategorical position. While employees will work in an assigned category, employees shall be required to support the needs of all students when necessary.

The hourly rate for a current EVSC assistant will be based on years of service with EVSC in an assistant role. Annual, incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this role if an employee has worked 120 days in a school year. New employees begin on year one.

EVSC offers four Anthem medical insurance plans. You can select a plan that is best for you. Single medical, dental and vision insurance are provided with this position. Employees may pay the additional cost to add family members.  to view the rates for each plan. If elected, insurance coverage begins the first of the month following the successful completion of a 30‑day probationary period.

Employees enrolled in an EVSC medical insurance plan are eligible to use any of the three EVSCHealth & Wellness Centers. The health clinics provide primary care services, generic prescription medications, physicals, health screenings, and labs – all at NO COST to the employee or covered family member.
