Position Overview
The Tulane School of Architecture and Built Environment invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in the Design Program at the rank of Professor of Practice.
Applicants will teach in their area of specialization and contribute to coursework across multiple design disciplines.
The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. For questions, contact the search committee chair:

- Teach studio courses and other coursework in their area of specialization.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary coursework across design disciplines.
- Develop and implement design pedagogy and critical discourse.
- Apply industrial design expertise with a strong foundation in graphic design.
- Support digital and analog fabrication, creative problem‑solving, and interdisciplinary synergies.
- Demonstrated excellence in studio teaching and creative practice.
- Interdisciplinary approach to design, research, and practice.
- Expertise in industrial design with background in graphic design (preferred).
- Strong foundation in digital and analog fabrication methodologies.
The Tulane University School of Architecture and Built Environment provides global leadership through excellence in design, research, and practice in the built environment. The School includes undergraduate and graduate Architecture programs and several allied programs and degree paths.
Faculty members teach coursework and collaborate across the School’s programs.
In addition to the Bachelor of Arts in Design (BADes), other programs include Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Engineering, Real Estate Development, Historic Preservation, Design Undergraduate Minor, Sustainable Urbanism, Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship, and Climate Change:
Science and Practice.
Other schools, programs, and centers at the University provide ample opportunities for interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
The School is recognized for community‑engaged design, design‑build, interdisciplinary research studios, and initiatives supported by the Center on Climate Change and Urbanism.
