Position: 2025-2026 - Advancement - Alumni Engagement and Reunions Coordinator
Location: New Orleans

Within the framework of building strong relationships and setting high expectations, the Alumni Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for leading a growing and comprehensive alumni program for Newman's 6,000+ alumni across the country. This individual will work closely with the Young Alumni Coordinator, colleagues in the advancement, admissions, and communications offices as well as the Alumni Association Board to implement all alumni events, programming, activities, and communications in order to build upon strong relationships with the School's alumni, foster a robust culture of engagement, and lead alumni stewardship.

This position is a full-time, 12-month position, and reports to the Associate Director of Advancement.

It is important for this position to build relationships between and among decades of alumni and continue to grow the School's alumni culture of engagement. This position is expected to meet annual goals for alumni engagement, stewardship, events, and volunteer management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Engagement and Stewardship
  • Provide strategic support and ongoing management of comprehensive alumni relations program for alumni, and parents of alumni.
  • Oversee, grow, and attend robust alumni programs regionally and locally including but not limited to Newman Travels, Regional Chapters, Homecoming, Alumni Weekend, Distinguished Alumnus/a, and Newman Reunions.
  • Develop and/or expand young alumni programming in cooperation with the Young Alumni Coordinator.
  • Coordinate alumni speakers for faculty when appropriate.
  • Write and send life-change letters in a timely manner.
  • Manage milestone reunions, including reunion events and reunion giving.
Communications
  • Manage the content and track engagement for the Newman alumni website and alumni engagement platforms.
  • Write, design, and send quarterly alumni e-newsletters. Use data-driven segmentation strategies to effectively engage alumni donors.
  • In conjunction with the Communications team and Associate Director of Advancement, coordinate alumni content for Newman News, School's website, social media platforms, and other alumni communication including class notes, and alumni feature stories.
  • Lead social networking strategies and activities for alumni.
Volunteer Management
  • Manage 12-18-month calendar of outreach for milestone reunions through class agent volunteer program.
  • Recruit and develop class agents.
  • Oversee and continue to grow robust alumni programs in collaboration with the Alumni Association Board of Directors both locally and nationally with the goal of increasing alumni engagement.
  • Continue to grow the Alumni Regional Program.
Advancement Team
  • Attend Advancement events and School-wide events.
  • Evening and weekend work is expected through active participation in School events.

  • Applies standards consistent of the highest expectations for all of Newman's advancement efforts.
  • Actively participates in professional learning communities and professional development opportunities to gain and apply new knowledge for the benefit of the School's advancement efforts.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to respond to shifting priorities both to manage emerging situations and take advantage of new opportunities.
  • Evening, weekend work, and periodic travel is expected through active participation in School events and to address communication and engagement opportunities, as needed.
Qualifications

Prefer a minimum of one to three years of demonstrated success of building and maintaining constituent engagement preferably in a non-profit or school environment.

Demonstrated excellence in developing strategies for successful programming.

Demonstrated success in recruiting and managing volunteers and planning events.
