Position: Director for the Advancement of Aspiring Educators
Location: Grambling

Job Summary

Grambling State University is seeking a highly motivated and proven leader to oversee all aspects of The Diversity Initiatives for Undergraduate Student Achievement in Teacher Education. This initiative targets increasing the number of diverse students earning a teaching degree. The position will involve developing, implementing, and managing the initiatives for the organization in order to recruit and retain diverse students. The position will oversee the initiatives through developing and executing strategies, developing and distributing marketing and promotional materials ,and other efforts related to the initiatives.

The position will involve creating, implementing, and managing strategies for the organization in order to cultivate and strengthen relationships with donors, partners/sponsors and the community. The candidate must demonstrate interest in the areas of pedagogy, grant writing, research and publication, and other scholarly activities sufficient to warrant consideration promotion. Certification is a plus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Teach courses in the department of Curriculum and Instruction

* Advise students, as well as promote, plan, implement, and assess those activities consistent with the enhancement and development of candidate sin the department

* Provide the vision and leadership necessary to support The Diversity Initiative strategies and mission to increase enrollment and retention of diverse students

* Provide academic administrative support to the department head

* Engage in research?and scholarly activities

* Work to maintain SACSCOC and CAEP accreditation

* Serve on various departmental, college and university committees

* Attend all University, College and Departmental faculty meetings, convocations, commencements, and official functions of the University

* Perform other task that may be assigned by the Head of Department and the Dean of the College of Education

Qualifications

Minimum:

* M.ED. required

* A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience

Preferred:

* Ph.D. or Ed.D.
