Trinity Episcopal School is seeking a full‑time Co‑Teacher in our Les Enfants Division, working with children approximately 12 months through four years of age. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about early childhood development and values collaboration, reflection, and relationship‑based teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Partner collaboratively with a co‑teacher to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play‑based curriculum for one‑, two‑, and three‑year‑old children
- Create a warm, safe, and responsive classroom environment that supports children’s social‑emotional growth, independence, and sense of belonging
- Support daily routines such as arrival, meals, toileting/diapering, rest time, and transitions with care and consistency
- Participate in and support daily morning meetings, helping to build classroom community and establish routines.
- Support the planning and facilitation of small‑group experiences to meet the developmental needs of individual children.
- Engage in reflective curriculum planning that draws from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, the Project Approach, traditional early childhood practices, and Responsive Classroom to meet the needs of young learners.
- Foster language development, curiosity, creativity, and problem‑solving through hands‑on experiences and open‑ended play
- Observe children’s growth and development and contribute to documentation, assessments, and family communication as appropriate
- Contribute to classroom communication, including newsletters and progress reports, in collaboration with the co‑teacher.
- Support children in developing early self‑help skills, peer relationships, and emotional regulation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that reflects children’s work and learning
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, colleagues, and administrators
- Collaborate with teaching teams and specialists to support the needs of individual children
- Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical responsibilities within the school community
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Classroom experience with young children in a similar setting strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of child development from approximately 12 months to four years
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
- Warm, patient, and flexible approach to working with young children and families
