Classroom teacher responsible for administering the classroom in accordance with School Board policies and using instructional and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student. Duties include instruction, supervision, classroom management, student assessment and evaluation, communication, collaboration, and extracurricular involvement.
Teachers are held accountable for meeting the TAP Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities Performance Standards and are responsible for the academic growth of their students.
Areas of ResponsibilityTeaching Standards are divided into four domains:
Instruction, Planning, Environment, and Professionalism. Each domain includes multiple indicators described below.
Instruction

- Respectful culture (tone of voice, eye contact, affirmative nods, wait time, proximity).
Professionalism
- Growing and developing professionally.

- School responsibilities.
- Administers class in accordance with Board policies, including lesson planning, grading, reporting grades, and contributing to school improvement initiatives.
- Accepts responsibilities related to administrative, curricular, and extracurricular activities.
- Works collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and stakeholders.
- Reports promptly to work, maintains good attendance, attends required meetings and trainings, and presents professional conduct.
- Supports school‑wide initiatives and student supervision.
Employee must maintain high standards of professional conduct. Breach includes neglect of duty, dishonesty, unlawful activities, or conduct prejudicial to the school system.
Minimum QualificationsUnited States citizen or authorized alien;
Louisiana Bulletin 746 requirements for school personnel certification.
Physical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, plan and organise effectively.
Terms of Employment172 days, or as stated in contract or agreement.
Reports ToSchool Principal and/or Assistant Principal or Assigned Evaluator.
