The College of Business at Southern University Baton Rouge is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track management faculty position in the Department of Management and Marketing for Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. Applicants should have an earned doctorate or ABD from a regionally accredited university in the appropriate discipline; with a strong record of scholarly or professional accomplishments and a strong record of teaching and developing diverse students.

The individual must be eligible for appointment at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor. The application should include (1) the candidate’s curriculum vita, (2) three letters of recommendation, (3) graduate transcripts and (4) a letter of application including a statement on the candidate’s career teaching and research goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems (MIS), including courses in the candidate's area of specialization, while integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications into the curriculum where appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction by preparing course syllabi, instructional materials, assessments, and maintaining accurate records of student learning outcomes in accordance with university and accreditation standards.
  • Provide academic advising and student support by offering tutoring, academic counseling, mentoring, and guidance that promotes student success, retention, and professional development.
  • Engage in scholarly research and creative activities by collaborating with faculty on research projects, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, pursuing grant opportunities, and contributing to the advancement of the discipline.
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement by assessing student learning outcomes, supporting program assessment initiatives, and incorporating emerging technologies and best practices into teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, and university service by serving on committees, participating in faculty meetings, supporting student engagement activities, and assisting with accreditation and institutional initiatives.
  • Perform other teaching, research, and service responsibilities as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the department, college, and university.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited college or university or be All But Dissertation (ABD) in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration (MIS concentration), or an appropriate related discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of teaching or related professional experience preferred, but not required.
