Administrative Assistant

ECOLE BILINGUE DE LA NOUVELLE-ORLÉANS, founded in 1998, provides a private, friendly and language-enriched environment for every student. We are Louisiana’s first and only private French school accredited by the French government and the State of Louisiana, providing multilingual education to over 400 students from 18-months-old through the 8th grade.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of School and administrative team in day‑to‑day operations.
  • Answer the door, telephone, and respond to parents in a polite, prompt manner.
  • Serve as building manager of the middle school building, ensuring doors are properly locked and supervised.
  • Distribute important school news to parents via email and social media.
  • Communicate with parents about field trips, clubs, after‑care, before‑care, injuries, tardiness, calendar, special events, and general curricular information; direct parents to teachers or Head of School when necessary.
  • Maintain student and staff records, attendance logs, and observation logs.
  • Coordinate and order office and classroom supplies within budget approval.
  • Assist with payment processing and liaise with finance team.
  • Attend required continuing education sessions for school licensure.
  • Attend regular after‑school faculty meetings.
  • Report problems and concerns to the Head of School.
  • Represent the school professionally at all functions.
  • Participate in continuing education sessions required by the Louisiana Department of Social Services and the Department of Education.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in administration management or a related field (business administration, finance, communication, marketing).
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience in operations and/or customer service, preferably in schools or nonprofits.
  • Advanced knowledge of communications, accounting, human resources, business law, and/or financial analysis preferred.

  • Possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, versatility, and ability to adhere to deadlines.
