Substitute Teacher

Job Title

Substitute Teacher – Van Meter, Iowa (2025–26 School Year)

$165 per day.

• Meets licensure requirements of the Department of Education.

• Work as-needed in PK–12 classrooms across the district.
• Accept assignments as available through Frontline, AEA, or district platform.
• Support consistent instruction, maintain lesson plans, and positively manage classroom behavior.
• Follow or plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Create a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives.
• Demonstrate ability to enhance academic performance and support the implementation of the school district's student achievement goals.
• Demonstrate competence in content knowledge appropriate to the substitute teaching position.
• Use a variety of methods to monitor student learning.
• Demonstrate competence in classroom management.
