The Director serves as the strategic, instructional, and operational leader of the Early Learning Center (ELC), guiding its development into a nationally recognized, high quality early childhood model and lab school. This role ensures the integration of exemplary care, evidence based practice, research, and professional development in alignment with LSUHSC’s mission and vision.
The Director is charged with elevating the ELC’s current operations—including three classrooms serving infants through toddlers and a team of seven teachers—into a cohesive, high functioning program that reflects best practices in early childhood education. This includes strengthening teaching quality, establishing clear and consistent operational systems, ensuring regulatory and licensing compliance, and cultivating a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
A central responsibility of the Director is leading the implementation of the ELC’s new vision, coordinating space and operational transitions, and stabilizing daily functioning while driving long-term strategic growth.
