Adjunct Instructors - Health Professions

Job Overview

This position will teach courses in our Health Professions Division. Adjunct instructors at Southern Community College provide educational services as assigned, in accordance with general college guidelines, board policies, and administrative guidelines.

Instruct courses in our Health Professions Division. Adjunct instructors in Health Professions programs must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in a qualifying field or a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in a qualifying field;
• Bachelor’s degree in the field of instruction with either 5 years teaching experience or 4000 hours related work experience;
• 6000 hours related work experience.

Adjunct teaching contracts are subject to cancellation due to low student enrollment or adjustments to teaching assignments due to full‑time faculty load requirements.

Applicants must possess the appropriate registration, certification, or licenses for the occupational area in which the instructor is teaching.

Flexibility to instruct classes during day, evening, and/or weekend hours, and for campuses in West Burlington and Keokuk. Online courses may also be available.

Official transcripts will be required upon hire. Assignments are compensated at the rate of $700 per credit hour or $40 per contact hour.
