The College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Finance beginning Fall 2027.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in finance, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as corporate finance, investments and financial analytics. Candidates should exhibit a commitment to innovative, engaged teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and a desire to stay at the forefront of emerging trends in finance and technology. Candidates must possess a strong research agenda aimed at publishing in ranked academic journals.
TeachingResponsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, with possible courses including:
- Financial Management
- Investment Management
- Financial Statement Analytics
- International Finance
- Fintech and Emerging Financial Technologies
Additional opportunities may include contributing to evolving areas such as:
- AI Applications in Finance
- Data Analytics and Visualization for Financial Decision-Making
- ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Investing
- Quantitative Finance and Risk Analysis

All tenure-track faculty positions at Loyola University New Orleans require a 3-3 teaching load, continuous scholarly activity, student advising and service to institutional committees. Candidates in their first faculty appointment after completing their PhD are eligible for a reduction in teaching load during the first year to support research activities.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is completed by the start date)
- Strong teaching skills with a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment for diverse students, including first-generation college students
- Experience or willingness to integrate new technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, or blockchain in finance
- Familiarity with financial software and tools, including programming languages (Python, R), financial modeling software, or other data analytics platforms
- Familiarity with the Jesuit educational model and a demonstrated ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation students
