Position: Adapted Physical Education Teacher at ReNEW Schools New Orleans, LA

Position Details

ReNEW is seeking a full-time Adapted Physical Education (APE) teacher.

A ReNEW Adapted Physical Education teacher will provide APE services to students who have been identified as needing APE services. The Adapted Physical Education teacher will maintain and ensure compliance by completing and filing required documentation, including but not limited to service logs, progress reports, communication logs, and IEPs.

What

You'll Do
  • Use goals to drive instruction. With your manager and team, set clear and ambitious short‑term and long‑term goals to drive your instruction and help students succeed.
  • Create a culture of learning by implementing a student‑led, positive, and safe classroom and school‑wide environment to maximize learning.
  • Differentiate for all students and provide necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students.
  • Use data all day, every day by assessing qualitative and quantitative student data to draw insights and adjust instruction.
  • Reflect by receiving instructional coaching and using feedback to improve.
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with parents and other staff members to ensure each student is making strong progress.
  • Be flexible and innovative as a turnaround organization, adjusting strategies to best meet students’ needs and invent, refine, and imagine practices and policies.
  • Be a constant learner by participating in school‑wide and network‑wide professional development and being solutions‑oriented.
  • Celebrate by approaching work with joy and enthusiasm for the impact on the community and students.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Travel between school sites is required.
  • Must satisfy the Louisiana Department of Education requirements for Adapted Physical Education certification.
