Special Education Teacher - Harvey, LA

Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school environment near Harvey, LA. In this contract position, you will use your expertise to shape inclusive classrooms and elevate student success across diverse learning needs for the  school year, working a consistent Monday through Friday schedule.

• Valid Louisiana Department of Education certification with a SPED endorsement (unfortunately, TA/TAT credentials cannot be accepted)
• Current, active certification in Louisiana—ready to begin without licensing delays
• Ability to successfully complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing
• Previous experience with special education students preferred

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload
• Create, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Foster positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environments
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff
• Engage in ongoing communication with guardians about student progress and needs
• Support students in developing both academic and social-emotional skills
• Ensure documentation is up to date and meets compliance standards

• Assignment runs August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027
• 35 hours per week; 7-hour workdays plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• School location and caseload specifics to be determined
