Cello & Violin Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a Cello & Violin Teacher to provide high quality private and small group lessons in our retail store. You will develop individualized lesson plans, teach proper technique, music reading, and ensemble skills, and prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances. Collaborate with store staff to support student enrollment, scheduling, and retention while maintaining accurate progress notes.

The ideal candidate is an experienced string educator, passionate about student success, communication, and community engagement in a collaborative, mission driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small-group cello and violin lessons to students of varying ages and levels
• Develop and adapt individualized lesson plans and learning goals
• Teach technique, music reading, ear training, and ensemble skills
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances
• Maintain accurate student progress notes and attendance records
• Communicate regularly with parents and students about goals and progress
• Collaborate with store staff to support student enrollment and scheduling
• Support a safe, inclusive, and student-focused learning environment
• Promote Music & Arts programs, events, and performance opportunities
• Participate in occasional recitals, workshops, or community outreach events
