Assistant Teacher

Job Description

The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the lead teacher and enhancing the classroom environment across multiple classrooms. This role primarily involves assisting with lesson delivery, managing student behavior, and maintaining classroom organization within an educational setting that requires prior child care experience. The Assistant Teacher collaborates as part of a teaching team and may occasionally participate in off-site activities such as field trips.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lesson planning and instructional delivery under the lead teacher's direction
• Support behavior management to maintain a positive learning environment
• Organize classroom materials and maintain an orderly learning space
• Collaborate with the teaching team to support student needs across multiple classrooms
• Participate in occasional field trips to support off-site educational activities
• Report to the lead teacher and communicate classroom observations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in education or child care
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques
• Understanding of child development principles
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patience and dedication to supporting student growth
