Aftercare Teacher at A+ Daycare & Learning Center, LLC in Maurice, LA, US. This Full time on site position offers great opportunities for career growth. Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic After-School Teacher to inspire and support children in their after-school hours. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow.
Your enthusiasm for working with young learners will help foster their social, emotional, and academic development while ensuring their well-being throughout the afternoon program. - Assist children with homework.
- Supervise and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and learning.
- Engage children in creative play, sports, arts, theater, and other enrichment programs to foster their interests and talents.
- Enforce behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Provide first aid or CPR in emergency situations following established protocols to ensure child safety.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child's individual needs and progress.
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, or specialized instruction for children requiring additional support in areas like special education or early childhood education.
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, camp programs, youth groups, or tutoring roles.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development preferred.
- Additional experience in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or Christian counseling is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities with enthusiasm and professionalism.
