Student Assistant with Sports Medicine (Football)
Hourly Pay: $11-15/hr
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Certified Athletic Trainers within Tulane Sports Medicine.
- Assist sport medicine staff in providing services to student-athletes through hydration, preventative care, and first-aid.
- Set up the field for practices/games and clean up afterwards.
- Perform designated tasks as directed by sports medicine staff.
- Handle daily/weekly tasks in the athletic training room outside of practice/game times.
- 60% Assistance with set up, breakdown, and hydration and first aid during practices
- 25% Training room maintenance and organization
- 10% Game coverage including first aid, set up, breakdown, hydration, and operations.
- 5% administrative tasks including filing, sorting, inventory
School Year (Fall) → 25-27 hrs/week (broken up into 5, 4 hour shifts)
- Practice → Monday –Friday: 5:30 AM – 12 PM
- Home Games → Saturday or Friday - 8 hour commitment
- Away Games → not required but will be excused for class if on the travel squad
School Year (Spring) → ~20 hrs/week
- Winter Conditioning- M/W/F 5:00AM-8:30AM
- Practice → Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday starting in March : 6:30 AM – 12:00 PM,
- Be available for all practices and all home games (opportunity to travel to away games)
- Times may vary depending on weather and other external variables

- Ability to work well with others (Certified Athletic Trainers, Physicians, other Student Assistants, Athletes, Coaches, and other support staff)
- Willingness to learn (from Certified Athletic Trainers, and other Student Assistants)

- Ability to work quickly and efficiently

- Student Assistant will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions such as hot and cold environments and rain.
- Student Assistant will be exposed to loud and distracting noises, especially during sporting events.
