As a charter school, Jefferson RISE sets its own academic calendar and daily schedule based on the needs of its students. Teachers generally work from mid-July (beginning with professional development before students arrive) through late May. Workdays are generally 7:10 AM-3:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Mondays extend to 4:30 PM and include mandatory Professional Development time. Anticipated school hours and days vary annually based on changes to the school calendar.

Jefferson RISE Charter School is seeking a patient, attentive, and dependable 1:1 Paraprofessional to provide individualized, day-to-day support to a designated student, promoting access to learning, school routines, and peer engagement. The 1:1 Paraprofessional implements instructional strategies and support plans aligned with the student's learning goals, monitors progress, and adapts support across academic, social, and functional settings. This position fosters the student's growth in independence and participation, and supports a safe, consistent, and inclusive learning environment through close collaboration with teachers, related service providers, and families.

• Support the implementation of classroom activities and instructional plans
• Reinforce academic concepts and skills as directed by the teacher
• Encourage student participation in classwork, small groups, and school routines
• Assist with materials, assignments, and tasks that promote student independence

• Provide consistent, individualized support throughout the school day in a variety of settings
• Help the student navigate transitions, stay organized, and maintain focus
• Support the student’s development of social, communication, and self-regulation skills
• Implement strategies to promote engagement, self-advocacy, and problem-solving

• Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
• Communicate regularly and professionally with supervising staff about student needs and observations
