Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry About the Opportunity
The Department of Chemistry at Tulane University seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry. We are particularly interested in scholars whose research complements existing departmental strengths and advances innovation in areas such as bioorganic, physical organic, or sustainable chemistry.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program, secure external funding, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to excellence in teaching.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain an innovative, externally funded research program in organic chemistry or a closely related discipline.
- Publish high-impact scholarly research and contribute to the national and international visibility of the department.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemistry.
- Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program.
- Strong record of scholarly achievement and research productivity.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research expertise in bioorganic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, sustainable chemistry, or related areas.
- Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
- Potential to enhance and complement existing research strengths within the department.
