Location: New Orleans
under general supervision, supervises construction inspectors in conjunction with public works construction projects to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and safety regulations and monitor daily construction activities and overall progress. Engineering construction inspection includes but is not limited to the following activities: earthwork and paving, roadway renovation and improvement, water supply and sewer collection pipeline, concrete, protective coating, pile driving, drilled pier, track improvements, power distribution and transmission systems, electrical overhead contact systems, streetlights, traffic signals, roadway striping, signal, control and data acquisition systems, radio and telecommunications systems, including fiber optic networks, power substations, ada retrofits and facilities, building renovation and improvements, operating equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, electrical and mechanical work, landscaping and irrigation work;
and related work as required.
note: additional related experience may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
note: applicants hired into this job classification between april 1, 2025 and march 31, 2027 are exempted from the requirement to reside in orleans parish.
