Overview

This role supports Cleco’s distribution system under direct supervision, learning industry and Cleco standard work practices through on‑the‑job and formal Cleco training.
Responsibilities- Assist in safely constructing, operating, inspecting and maintaining Cleco’s distribution system, equipment and facilities in accordance with distribution operations practices and service restoration requirements.
- Learn and perform line operations/construction activities safely and efficiently under supervision, as classified.
- Strive to provide reliable service and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Complete job assignments in accordance with Cleco policies, procedures and standards.
- Work safely and in compliance with Cleco quality procedures and standards, with productivity and quality guided by KPIs.
- Assist in restoration, construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution systems, focusing on safety, efficiency and timely completion to reduce customer impact.
- Perform troubleshooting and switching operations; request assistance when necessary to minimize outages and restore service.
- Incorporate Human Performance (TOPI) into daily work routines.
- Maintain good attendance, including availability for callouts and scheduled overtime; respond to weather conditions as needed.
- Be willing to work away from the normal location for mutual assistance within Cleco and other electric utilities.
- Communicate honestly and effectively with managers, supervisors, leads, employees and customers; promote teamwork and customer satisfaction.
- Follow instructions from leads, supervisors and managers and support company initiatives.
- Education:
Secondary/High School Diploma. - Experience:
0+ years of related experience. - Strong business acumen for the utility industry; knowledge of leading practices in the field.
- Planning and project management skills; ability to learn new technologies on the job.
- Team-oriented with the ability to present ideas respectfully in a collegial manner.
- Maintain CDL driver’s license at all times; loss of CDL will result in automatic termination.

Salary is dependent on experience, skills, education, and training.
