Environmental Engineer – Refinery Compliance & Emissions
Make an impact in industrial environmental compliance! PROtect LLC is seeking a hands‑on Environmental Engineer to help shape and lead environmental programs at refinery operations. This role combines field‑based training, regulatory compliance expertise, and process improvement opportunities to deliver world‑class emissions and compliance programs.
Location: Norco, LA.

- Develop, implement, and improve refinery environmental compliance programs
- Perform emission calculations and prepare supporting documentation for permits and regulatory reporting
- Interpret P&IDs to monitor and evaluate refinery process equipment
- Collect and maintain environmental data records for compliance tracking
- Lead or support regulatory inspections, audits, and enforcement activities
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues
- Identify and implement opportunities for environmental process improvements
- Stay up‑to‑date with emerging regulations and contribute to new rule development
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, or Process preferred)
- 1–3 years of environmental, process, or civil engineering experience (industrial or refinery experience a plus)
- Knowledge of LDAR, BWON, emissions monitoring, and Clean Air Act regulations
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities
- TWIC card or ability to obtain one
- Industrial experience in a refinery or chemical plant setting
- Experience with environmental audits and agency inspections
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholder engagement
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, ascend heights up to 300 ft
- Travel as required by job responsibilities
