The S&W BNO is seeking motivated engineers and engineer interns to join its team on a long-term contract basis. These positions support critical infrastructure improvement projects across the city, with opportunities to convert to permanent employment based on performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for early-career or experienced engineers seeking hands‑on experience in public works and environmental infrastructure, while working alongside seasoned professionals committed to the resilience and sustainability of New Orleans.
Roles Available Engineer Intern I (Entry Level)- Assist in the research, design, and construction of water, sewer, and drainage projects.
- Support senior engineers with drafting, calculations, and field inspections.
- Participate in project documentation, design reviews, and data collection.
Ideal for:
Recent engineering graduates or early-career engineers looking to build field and design experience.
- Perform independent technical work under the direction of licensed engineers.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for ongoing infrastructure projects.
- Conduct field inspections and coordinate with contractors and consultants.
- Mentor or assign tasks to junior team members as experience grows.
Ideal for:
Candidates with 1–3 years of civil or environmental engineering experience who are ready to take on greater project responsibility.
- Lead and coordinate engineering design, analysis, and project oversight for major infrastructure initiatives.

- EIT certification.
