SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - MUNICIPAL AND INDUSTRIAL WATER PROJECTS

Northern Ohio / Southeast Michigan

Our Arcadis Structural Team is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (PE) with strong project management expertise to support our Northern Ohio and Southeast Michigan offices. This role is well suited for a candidate residing in Toledo, Cleveland, Akron, or Detroit. The role serves as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership, guiding project teams, and collaborating with clients.

You will contribute to delivering high-quality municipal and industrial wastewater projects while supporting business development to expand our client base and strengthen our regional presence. A nationally recognized technical team will support you, and you will apply your structural design and construction engineering expertise to drive project execution from concept through completion. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and may include travel for project and client visits within the United States.

• Organize and conduct structural-related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work with a well-defined scope
• Lead the development of calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents
• Collaborate with a variety of engineering disciplines, staff, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle; communicate effectively orally and in writing; coordinate meetings, conduct client presentations, and prepare written reports
• Exercise judgment on details of work and select engineering alternatives
• Manage the production of engineering and construction drawings, specifications, bid packages, and cost estimates
• Function as Engineer of Record, Task Manager, or Project Engineer; manage budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, and coordinate permits, scopes of work, and project completion
• Mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff
• Travel for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, planning, or overseeing construction activities as needed

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including supervision of elements of large, complex municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Functional knowledge and experience with AutoCAD/REVIT
• Strong structural analysis and design skills (e.g., Staad Pro, RISA)
• Excellent working knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.)

Salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000, with actual salaries based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
