F/A-18 Electrical Maintenance Technician

• Contract Position • $35.89-$47.08/Hour
Assembles, disassembles, and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly, or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results).
Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight-worthiness requirements. Oversees training.
- Technician maintains the following:
Aircraft seats and canopy ejection systems, Gaseous O2, fire extinguishing, air conditioning, cockpit heat, pressurization, and ventilation - Remove and install Oxygen system valves, gauges, converters, and regulators.
- Remove, install, inspect, and rig ejection seats, Cartridge Actuation Devices (CADS), shoulder harnesses, and lap belts.
- Perform daily, pre- and post-flight, and periodic aircraft inspections.
- Assembles, disassembles, and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
- Oversees assembly, disassembly, or overhaul.
- Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
- Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results).
- Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight-worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.
- Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance
- Minimum 5 years of aviation maintenance experience in egress, survival equipment, and/ or related aircraft systems
- Experience installing/removing F-18 ejection seats
- Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform maintenance tasks in confined spaces or elevated positions
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
- Travel to Scotland, Greece, and Kuwait (will be visiting US military bases while there)
- Fighter Structural Modification Experience
- Ability to safely handle explosive devices and hazardous components
- Fighter Electrical modification experience
