Responsible for the manufacturing process over its lifecycle from design to the mass production stage. Participate in the conceptual design of processes to deliver timely delivery, quality, and cost objectives. Continually improve the process by eliminating waste and making it safer for production team members.
Responsibilities- Define, review, and confirm the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
- Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review and initiate Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with core team members.
- Prepare documentation and process specifications for production.
- Lead the team in identifying, tracking, and resolving engineering issues using the Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA) form.
- Implement continuous manufacturing process improvement using TEOA tools for cost reduction.
- Evaluate demand and cost of new tools, fixtures, and equipment for new projects.
- Design and review tools, fixtures, and equipment with core team members, ensuring TE engineering and EHS requirements are met.
- Upload all tooling prints to the TE data management system (DM.TEC, PDMLink, etc.).
- Manage communications with outside suppliers regarding tool/fixture/equipment details.
- Follow up on the purchasing process to fabricate new tool/fixture/equipment.
- Condition all tools, fixtures, and equipment; lead qualification by running samples or LVM.
- Ensure qualification documentation follows TE standard formats and obtain approvals.
- Coordinate pilot runs for new products and solve engineering issues; ensure manufacturing process capability meets engineering, quality, and customer requirements.
- Coach, train, and develop operators and technicians to master their techniques and continuously improve.
- Run Kaizen events to eliminate waste from the process and improve cycle time, changeover times, quality yield, and cost.
- Optimize spare parts consumption and improve process durability.
- Make processes safer by implementing machine guarding and control reliability principles.
- Update routing and cycle times in the system following improvement actions.
- Improve and automate material flow and movement of people to optimize cash and efficiency.
- Optimize capital and operating expenditures related to operations by understanding technology changes, vendor landscape, and make‑vs‑buy decisions to improve margin and cash.
- Build a technology roadmap to differentiate processes that do not exist today and create a competitive advantage.
- Technicians
- Bachelor's or master's engineering degree in automation, mechatronics, electrical, mechanical, or mixed streams or equivalent years of related work experience.
- Deep experience involving automation for discrete manufacturing.
- Deep experience with mechanical manufacturing processes involving assembly lines, mold/die manufacturing.
- Overall minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering and operations experience involving product development and sustaining.
- Extensive experience working on new product launches.
- Highly proficient with lean manufacturing, six sigma, RedX methodology, and practical experience implementing them in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of core manufacturing processes (precision automation, mechanical parts manufacturing processes such as machining, additive manufacturing, stamping, plating, manual assembly, molding, welding, etc.).
- Working knowledge of DFM, PFMEA, FACA, etc.
- Proven strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills, accountability, integrity, and customer focus.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑focused environment.
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $102,700 – $154,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location).
