Job Description
This position is in person, ON-SITE in Fort Madison, IA.
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team. Industrial Engineer responsibilities include ensuring products and services meet established quality standards and improving efficiency. This position will analyze operations and design workflows and processes to improve efficiency in the main distribution center as well as the remote locations to improve customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Develops and implements process improvements and technological upgrades (include ERP and in process technology to improve efficiency)
- Reviews schedules, processes, specifications and related information to identify areas for improvement
- Utilize lean and six sigma principles to maximize efficiency and reduce waste
- Design standard work to minimize costs, improve quality, delivery and safety
- Identify and maintain key performance indicators to track improvement progress in all distribution activities (order fulfillment, bagging, Kan Ban processes, receiving, etc.)
- Develop standards in cooperation with management and user personnel
- Prepare material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses and estimated production costs for value added services
- Lead the design layout of facilities to improve flow and optimize human capital requirements
- Involved in the implementation and maintenance of warehouse management system to facilitate smooth and accurate data collection for order fulfillment and inventory quantities and costs
- Train staff for new processes and provide instructions and manuals
- Proven work experience as an Industrial Engineer or similar role
- Ability to travel 40% of the time
- Experience leading Toyota Production System methods for process improvement
- Six Sigma Black Belt training and experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of distribution processes and standards
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Troubleshooting expertise and attention to detail
