Job Summary
This position supports Project Engineering deployment initiatives within Entergy Services, LLC. The engineer will provide distribution design and engineering for projects across five Entergy operating companies, including detailed scoping, engineering, and design activities for projects initiated by Asset Management, Distribution Planning, Distribution Automation, and Project Engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities- Develop detailed scoping and engineering plans for projects.
- Ensure adherence to Project Engineering standards while developing scoping, design, and engineering deliverables.
- Partner with subject‑matter experts (e.g., Project Management, DOC, Data Maintenance, Planning, Operations, Transmission) to input scoping.
- Perform quality assurance on internal and external design deliverables and audit design packages and construction jobs.
- Assist the Right‑of‑Way group to secure permitting when needed.
- Support change management and rollout of new program development.
- Assist the distribution automation organization in implementing smart devices associated with Grid Mod Projects.
- Participate in industry technical knowledge‑sharing and best‑practice meetings with peer utilities.
- Resolve technical engineering conflicts affecting cost, schedule, quality, or customer satisfaction.
- Respond to regulatory bodies with technical engineering expertise.
- Integrate safety, reliability, operability, constructability, and configuration management practices into final products, designs, and processes.
- Develop processes and tools to improve project cost, cycle time, and quality.
- Coordinate switching orders necessary for Grid Modernization projects.
- Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial) from a four‑year accredited institution. - Degrees in engineering technology may be considered if the candidate holds a Professional Engineer license.
