Position Summary
A process engineer at Crane Resistoflex is responsible for supporting production through daily troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure processes are safe, meet quality and throughput requirements, and make the work easier for the operators. This requires hands‑on involvement and working on the shop floor.
Principal Duties- Design and implement improvements to production processes and controls.
- Develop improvements to manufacturing methods to improve safety, reduce cost, or increase productivity.
- Aid operations in ensuring parts are safely fabricated in accordance with product specifications.
- Analyse processes for safety, quality, and efficiency opportunities.
- Resolve quality issues, identify trends, determine root causes, and take corrective actions.
- Improve manufacturing process to reduce process variability and increase yields.
- Represent engineering as part of a cross‑functional team including safety, quality, and operations.
- Prioritize and execute projects within the agreed upon timeline and provide updates on project status.
- Take ownership of projects and execute through design, fabrication, implementation, and sustainment.
- Participate in week‑long team‑based problem solving / continuous improvement events.
- Develop and manage action plans for long‑term projects through completion.
- Research and develop high‑value cost saving opportunities and use data to project savings that justify any necessary capital expenditure.
- Participate in quality improvements as per IATF 16949:2016, ensuring completion of toll gates for DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and process capability study for in‑house processes, and that requirements of relevant standards such as ISO 9001:2015, PED 2014/68/EU, API Spec. Q1, and API 6D are consistently met and improved.
- B.S. in Engineering or related degree.
- Problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Basic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
- Working experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S practices.
- Proficient with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
- Demonstrated ability to understand process & product specifications.
