Job Description- Participate in casualty investigations involving collisions, allisions, groundings, machinery failures, personal injury matters, and environmental incidents.
- Prepare vessels for USCG Port State Control (PSC), Certificates of Compliance (COC), SIRE, and Right Ship inspections.
- Conduct Superintendent Inspections and assist in Class inspections.
- Conduct ISM, ISPS, ISO audits and Risk Assessments.
- Conduct inspections of cargoes to assess damage, risks, loss, remediation and mitigation.
- Prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports, including recommendations relating to claims, disputes, casualty investigations, operational issues, and risk management.
- Assist in the preparation of expert reports and, where qualified and appropriate, provide expert testimony in depositions, arbitration proceedings, and court matters.
- Maintain close relationship with clients and develop business when opportunity arises.
- Travel as needed for surveys and client engagements, including occasional international assignments.
Ideal candidates will be experienced maritime professionals holding a Master Mariner or Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency, with significant seagoing experience on ocean‑going vessels and preferably at least two years serving in the rank of Master or Chief Engineer.
Work AuthorizationCurrent authorization to work in the United States is preferred. However, FMC International will consider highly qualified international candidates and may provide sponsorship or other employment authorization support, subject to applicable laws and business requirements.
