Process Engineer
Garyville's Process Engineering team is a dynamic and collaborative environment responsible for understanding, analyzing, and improving the production units at the Garyville site. The team's key stakeholders include the production operators they support, the maintenance & reliability group, and the planning group. The Process Engineer role is key in reaching site and organizational goals related to safety, performance, TPM, and customer service.
The Process Engineer is an individual contributor that will be responsible for specific production units on the Garyville site. This means the engineer will learn the chemical processes that take place in the unit, build relationships with the operators that run those processes, and communicate the KPIs and challenges of the unit's planned production. Once a basic understanding of the unit is in place, the Process Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace, implementing process changes in the unit, and working with appropriate stakeholders (QA, TPM, Maintenance, Capital) to improve unit efficiency and performance.
What You Will Do:
- Monitor and analyze the performance of production units
- Complete initiatives to ensure a safe work environment in the production area and maintain updated process safety information files
- Work closely with unit operators to produce batches, prepare for scheduled maintenance, and make area and efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with logistics and planning groups to meet customer demand
- Analyze, investigate, and troubleshoot problems in processes and equipment
- Document changes in unit by writing MOCs and performing PSSRs
- Member of a site TPM Pillar team
- Support capital projects by providing process data, reviewing designs, serving on project teams, participating in hazard analysis, and executing other relevant duties
- Work with area chemist/pilot plant on new product development/implementation
- Review and update SOPs to reflect operation changes
- Interface with the reliability team for outage planning and maintenance work in area
- Evaluate, drive and advocate for in sourcing, innovation and volume opportunities for the site
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, or similar technical field
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with equipment design, process development, and optimization

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strong background leading technically driven projects, and ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience in a PSM (Process Safety Management) environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $85,900.00 - $. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
